What is an Adaptive Deer Hunting
Event?
Adaptive Deer Hunts are designed for
those 10 and older to utilize adaptive equipment, such as EcoRovers, to
navigate the woods and hunt independently. Key elements include:
- Overview and trial time for available
adaptive equipment.
- Onsite community time and hunt meeting
with a meal.
- 2 hunting sessions at minimum (based
on location)
- Flexibility for new, returning, or
novice hunters as guides/mentors can be requested.
Game limits will be based on location
and state regulations.
We highly suggest that hunters bring
an adult buddy with them to the event for any personal or advanced medical
needs. Mobility-impaired youth, ages 10-17, MUST have an adult always present
with them.
How does the application and selection
process work?
- Complete the application by September
10, 2025.
- Staff will review applications, and if
there are more candidates than slots at a given location, a non-point lottery
system will be used.
- Selected participants will be notified
by September 17, 2025, for the October hunts and October 1, 2025, for the
November hunts.
- Site-specific details will be emailed
to participants.
Please check that your phone number
and email address are correct so that if chosen, these details will reach you
promptly.
