The Buck Shoals Wildlife Management Area is located in White County. This 582-acre property exclusively offers youth hunting and fishing events, including the very popular Hunt & Learn programs for deer. This is a three day Hunt and Learn event for a maximum of 12 youth hunters. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants can enter the area beginning Friday afternoon to set up camp and must attend a pre-hunt safety meeting at 6PM that evening. Youth will then hunt Saturday morning/afternoon and Sunday morning. Interspersed educational programs and learning opportunities will occur throughout the weekend. On-site camping and fishing is available and encouraged.
NOTE: There is a $90 fee for participants to cover the cost of food. All meals, snacks, and drinks will be provided.
NOTE: 12 participant quota. Participation within this event is not determined on a first come first serve basis. Everyone’s application will be reviewed, with first preference being given to youth with limited or no prior hunting experience. If there are remaining slots available after this initial selection, youth with more hunting experience will be selected through a random drawing.
