Adaptive Hunts are designed for those 10 and older to utilize adaptive equipment such as EcoRovers, to navigate the woods and hunt independently. The program includes an overview and time to try the different equipment if desired and at least 2 hunting sessions.
We highly suggest that hunters bring an adult buddy with them to the event for any personal medical needs. Mobility-impaired youth, ages 10-17 must have an adult always present with them.
The application itself is free, payment of the $20 is due upon acceptance into the hunt. Candidates will be screened to make sure they meet the same qualifications as those needed to hold a Disability Hunting License. You are not, however, required to have this particular license. To learn more about the Georgia Disability Hunting and Fishing License and the qualifications to hold one please go to: https://georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes/disability.
Selected participants will be notified by September 5th, and you will be prompted to return to your GoOutdoorsGA.com account to make payment. Specific details regarding the hunt location will be emailed to paid participants. These details will include exact start times, pre-hunt meeting locations, which meals are included, local housing options, etc. Please make sure your email address is correct so that if chosen these details will reach you promptly.
